Megan was an incredible teacher. She is down to earth and practical. I learned a lot about different types of lighting and camera settings when it comes to Macro. She walks you thru each type of Macro (inside, outside, natural light, artificial light etc). It was exciting and inspiring at the same time. I highly recommend this breakout. I have loved participating in this amazing breakout immensely. I love photographing the flowers that I grow in my garden but sometimes get very frustrated with myself. All the Videos are wonderful, short and to the point. I have really enjoyed watching these very informative videos. Because they are short it is very easy to find just what you are looking for. There are also many helpful hints throughout and I especially liked the one about putting a straw on a flower stem to prevent it breaking when using the third hand tool. I also appreciated the focus stacking video. I am so glad that I joined this breakout. I highly recommend this breakout to any one with an interest in macro photography. Thank you very much Megan for being an awesome and fabulous instructor.

This class has been helpful and I’ve learned about my 105 mm lens which I’ve had for a few years but wasn’t using as well as I could have. Just a simple little tweak has made so much difference in what I’m shooting now! (and that was only the 2nd video!!!) She goes through so many helpful ideas and shows you how to achieve them which is great too! Highly encourage you to dive into this breakout. You will not be disappointed!

Hi! I really enjoy taking macro photos, but I’ve never been very sure about what I’m doing. For example, I have a wonderful macro lens, but I’m still trying to figure out how to use it. As a result, I purchased this class. I’m still working through the chapters, but I’m happy I purchased it! I’m learning a lot that I didn’t know, and I’m starting to understand why I haven’t been getting some of the types of shots I’ve been trying for and how to adjust things so I can next time. If you’re interested in macro, go for this one — it’s a good one.

Megan Arndt is an exceptional teacher! I moved her videos! She offers clear concise instruction in a very sequential manner. I have always wanted to dabble in macro, but I thought I didn’t have the equipment. I purchased this breakout to reference when I bought a macro lens, I was shocked that I can actually get started with macro for about $15.00. I am loving this breakout! I have been dabbling in macro photography off and on for a while now. Megan gives so many great tips on her unique perspectives and skills! I have learned new ways to look at subjects, new ways to use equipment I already own, as well as new equipment and techniques I did not know about! This break out is a little different from other breakouts I have participated in as it is mainly a series of instructional videos instead of a lengthy PDF with just a couple of supporting videos. I am learning so much from this breakout! Macro is one of those genres where I felt like as long as I had the right lens I would be good to go. Not true! There is so much more to that and Megan is great at breaking it down. I’m only halfway through and am learning so much on technique and things to consider for composition and lighting, I am getting much more thoughtful and deliberate in my approach and already see such an improvement in my images, and this is without even getting to the creative setups yet! This one is really a no-brainer! I’ve been shooting for years now so it’s been a very long time since I’ve devoured a breakout in this way! There are so many things to try. This breakout is what I needed to get started in Macro. Megan is very detailed in her teaching and reiterates important concepts of macro throughout which really helped my learning. The videos build nicely with each new concept introduced, which made it very easy to follow and understand. She goes over so many different lighting scenarios that can be used with macro and the great thing is you probably already have a lot of them in your home! I also really enjoyed her creative setups and ideas of how to have even more fun with macro. This breakout is exactly what I’ve needed and the timing could not have been better! I’ve been in a rut for quite a long time and my husband, bless his heart, bought me a macro lens for Mother’s Day. Shortly after Mother’s Day this beautiful breakout came out and I jumped at the chance to get it and learn my lens better. (Perfect timing!). I have been watching the many videos in little chunks and after an almost 3 year rut, I’m happy to say I’ve begun shooting every single day! I have learned so much, not just about lighting, composition, and shooting macro but also more about myself. I’ve learned what type of composition I’m drawn to, what details I lean towards wanting to shoot, and how to edit to get the looks I want. I’ve also learned to let go of perfectionism and to stop pixel peeping (lol).

This breakout has been a breath of fresh air. The videos are plentiful and informative. The critiques from Megan have proven invaluable and she is a great teacher and so supportive and encouraging. And her images throughout the breakout are beautiful and inspiring!

I didn’t even hesitate when I seen this breakout offered. No buyers remorse here! Each video has inspired me to get out and shoot. Megan leaves no rock unturned going over equipment if you don’t have a macro lens, camera settings, shooting strategies, composition, lighting, indoor setup, creative ideas, and even editing! It was great lesson with very detailed lessons. I thought I knew about Marco but she really give good tips and I learned lots from Megan. I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in elevating their macro photography! This $25 course is best investment I had ever.

I am really enjoying Meg’s macro breakout. Her shooting tips have been so helpful as well as the information on lighting and composition. I actually almost sold my macro lens and I’m so glad I didn’t because her breakout inspired me to go outside and have fun again. I highly recommend this breakout. I have to start by saying that I have taken lots of breakouts and workshops through CPS and I am blown away by the amount of incredible content in this breakout. To be honest the level of content rivals a few of the 4 week workshops because everything about macro is covered from gear, setup, lighting, techniques, editing… everything!! This is the best $25 investment I have made in my photography business and if you are at all considering, just BUY IT you will not regret it!!
