The Art of Portraiture
with Elle Walker
4 WEEK WORKSHOP BEGINS APR 22
$300 Full Participation | $150 Study Along
Bridge the gap between technical and artful execution, creating portraits that match your vision and engage your viewers.
In this four week workshop, you will be given the opportunity to explore portraiture across a multitude of genres; including classical, lifestyle, fine art and stylised portraits. Whether you shoot client sessions, or prefer to photograph your own children or family on a daily basis, you will learn how to take portraits that allow you to communicate more than just the physical attributes of your subject. From capturing personalities, interactions between subjects and those everyday routines and events, to making conscious decisions on a technical level that will help you to achieve your desired image, are all topics covered over the duration of the course. Packed full of feature interviews with artists, visual examples and guidance, this course will equip you with the skills required to create strong, emotive portraits that truly reflect your inner artist.
Students should have a sound understanding of the exposure triangle, and be comfortable with their camera of choice.
