I am a little slow in writing this review, but realise that this might just be the perfect time to share my thoughts. It’s December and in Canada we are entering the darkest days of the year. If you are struggling to make the most of the light inside your home and are debating on taking a class about indoor light in the winter months, I am telling you that YOU NEED THIS CLASS! Kate covers everything you need to master the natural and artificial life in your homes and everywhere. Kate is such an amazing teacher and skilled photographer. Her feedback is exceptional. If you are thinking of a nice Christmas present to yourself, this class is it.
I love how Kate covers everything you need to know about light! She is so intelligent with how to use it and demonstrates is in her videos in a way that is easy to follow and understand. Her PDF is one you will want to print as an easy go-to resource as you work through all the different ways to use and manipulate light. This course will challenge you to see light differently, creatively, and use light that is outside of your comfort zone. Enjoy!
Thank you, Ebony!
This class is absolutely amazing!! Kate is so great at explaining her techniques, and making them relatable and easy to understand. Her videos are extremely helpful, and her critiques provide detailed ways we can improve our images. I am so sad this class is over, but so grateful I was able to learn from such an incredible teacher. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kate!
Thank you, Ally! It was wonderful to have you in class, and I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
I just finished up Kate Luber’s The Light Inside workshop and am so glad I took it. I found Kate’s materials and videos so clear and helpful. Kate is not only an amazing photographer but she is a fabulous teacher. Even though I have taken lighting classes before I have found myself discovering so many great spots to capture light right in my own home. I took some images I just love during the class and intend to keep practicing. Kate made me see that there is no bad light. You just need to know how to work with it. This will come in handy when I am working with high school seniors in all types of settings for my business. I recommend this class to anyone wanting to grow in their learning of light. You won’t regret it!
Thank you, Melissa!
I’m so glad that I took Kate Luber’s course, “The Light Within!” From the first week I was able to analyze the lighting in various indoor situations in ways I’d never been able to do. This has meant that I’m better able to use light as a tool to further my artistic vision. I was so pleased to see the professionalism of Kate’s teaching materials. Her PDFs are well organized, thoughtful and clear. In addition, the images she uses in her PDFs are nothing shy of eye candy ~ just SO beautiful! The videos that are part of the course made the concepts Kate was imparting just that much clearer. If you are considering signing up for Kate’s course, I urge you to just that! I am confident that you will be blessed as I have been!
Thank you, Denise!
This workshop was my first one ever in photography because I really felt the need to understand light and learn how to use it especially in this weather (Fall and Winter). It was a big investment for me as I did it as a full participant but I didn’t regret it. It was so instructional, inspiring and Kate is very friendly and helpful! I enjoyed the well-written PDFs and the explanations in the videos. Very hands-on workshop. It encouraged me every week to take the photo, get the benefit out of the existent light because as Kate says: no light is bad light. Besides the content, the week assignment review is very nice.. and the discussions we had together during those weeks. Even more, in the last week, she edited some of our photos. After the workshop, I feel more confident to photograph even when the light is not that bright, my eye is more open to light inside my home and to the opportunities to use it whatever the situation and I learned some technicals terms in photography that I didn’t know before. Thank you Kate! I highly recommend this workshop.
Thank you, Sarah! I’m so glad it was helpful!
I signed up for Kate’s workshop last run as a study along student knowing how much I adore Kate’s work and this workshop exceeded my expectations! Most of us are always thinking of natural light especially when starting out but Kate covers artificial light as well and I know for me that’s one area I would love to practice more on. She gives great examples on how to use simple techniques in finding, manipulating and using that artificial light that is all around us without feeling limited by just natural light! Kate’s editing videos are of course magic! A must class for anyone looking to master natural and artificial light inside!!
Thank you, Jyo!
Kate is an amazing teacher to work with. I had taken other classes geared towards light and it never felt it clicked totally until this class. I feel like I am much better at analyzing and seeing light. One of the great things about this class was I never felt overwhelmed – the materials were understandable and not too onerous to get through if you are trying to carve out time in a busy schedule. But, the best thing about the workshop was Kate’s critiques, because they are stellar. Her feedback on how to edit helped my images go from good to great. I would happily take any class she offered.
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed!
Kate Luber is an incredible instructor and mentor! I really loved this class and have learned so much about both artificial and natural indoor light. I feel so much more prepared to tackle challenging settings as I photograph my kids. I highly recommend this class – you won’t be disappointed!!
Thank you!
