There are so many wonderful bits of information (and clever tricks) throughout the videos that I am excited to try; I’m making sure to take notes as I watch so I don’t miss anything! I appreciate Meg’s keen eye for detail and the way she captures childhood. This course is a delight and gives you a glimpse into how she creates photo magic.

It’s so nice to see someone as influential and big as Meg actually telling your how she achieves her signature look and stories. I cannot recommend this course enough to those who are looking for the “HOW” and might feel like in a rut with their photos and need some creative inspiration.

In this workshop, she shares it all from concept of the photo through to the final edit. Put together in one video it truly helps you understand why to shoot the same scene in multiple ways to give you options in your final edit. For example, a secondary shot of her daughter with a balloon allowed her to composite foreground interest. Meg is a master artist from start to finish and this course teaches you so many tools to begin to create your own art. But she does it in such a way, you can apply what you know how to do and increase the beauty of your own photos. You learn so much and apply a bit more each time as you become more comfortable.

Each video thoroughly explains the process behind every image, from the idea to the end result. I think that, even if you already have a great knowledge of Lightroom and Photoshop, you can still learn a lot because sometimes we know how to do things (like adjust white balance for example), but we might not always know why and when we should do them. Meg Loeks really explains her thought process with every action she makes. Of course, it’s easy to see that Meg Loeks as a lot of experience, but it gives us hope that we might be able to produce quality images as well one day. My Lightroom does not have all of the tools her does so I can’t use most of the LR guidance but even without that — you are still learning such valuable and applicable tools for your own images. Each video follows the easy to follow structure of showing the final image, BTS video, SOOC and edit walk through all with voice over commentary from Meg. The 15 images are all very different so there are new learnings in each one and all include details on gear, settings, location, set up, time of shoot and narrative about the image. Highly recommend this course.

Looking at Meg’s editing just gave be the courage and inspiration to finally try… and it is fun (and a bit frustrating). Meg’s courses are amazing and for the last two weeks I have actually enjoyed my commute to work (by train) because it gives me time to learn something new from these courses.

I love that Meg explains what is happening in the BTS videos, in addition to her thought process throughout the edit. She explains the purpose behind the image, how she shot it, and how she makes the image come to life with her edits. Throughout the editing portion of the video, Meg walks the viewer step by step, explaining how each portion of the LR panel or each layer in PS affects the image.

I love Meg Loeks’ work (who doesn’t?!), but I admit I was a little hesitant in picking up this course because her style is so different from my own. I’m so glad I purchased it, though. I’ve learned so much about her intentionality and picked up so many amazing editing techniques, which are applicable to any genre. So even if you don’t shoot a lot of portraits or styled shoots (Meg is obviously a master of both), there is still plenty to learn here!

I am so excited to progress and finish this course! I’m really looking for new ways to be inspired as I’ve found myself in a bit of a funk with photography. Already I’m trying to use some creative thinking and starting to plan a shoot. Like many others I’ve been following Meg’s work for some time. It’s seemed like her work is something out of my reach, but this course already has me feeling confident I can get some good results with a little planning and hopefully find my own style of photography. I’m grateful for this opportunity to take this course.
