about your presenter

Kirsty is inspired by the simple, everyday stories of life around her. She looks for connection and depth when making images and believes that curiosity is her greatest creative strength. That curiosity leads her to follow the noise of drums to see what’s happening around a corner and she is frequently delighted by the sights that greet her.

Kirsty composes intuitively and uses light to make sure her images are fully infused with the feelings of being right there with her. She tries to make sure each day is sprinkled with a healthy dose of creative practice, whether that be on the school run, or while cooking dinner, and she fully believes that intentionality filters intuitively into her images. She is a cheerleader for following your own creative passions and nurtures the stories and visions within the people she meets, whether they be in front of her camera, or learning alongside her.

Kirsty is a Nikon Middle East educator and National Geographic Your Shot contributor. She lives in Delhi, India with her 2 teenage daughters. She documents their life at home and celebrates the connections her family makes with people they meet on their journeys.

  1. This course is so jam-packed with inspiration! It is the perfect antidote to the ruts that we all seem to find ourselves stuck in at one point or another during our photography journeys. Kirsty has the most amazing attitude about living a creative lifestyle, and so many tips and tricks for helping you to live that same way. I am incredibly inspired by Kirsty and her work; this course really made me take a step back and think about not just my work, but the way I see the world (even without a camera in my hand!).

  2. Kirsty is genuinely as amazing, humble, and wonderful in person as she sounds on the screen or any platforms! Attending her The Wondering Light light retreat in 2019 was one of the best decisions I have ever taken and meeting her there first time in person was a unique and everlasting experience on its own! She is such an inspirational example of living a creative life and coming out with a course on creativity had to be phenomenal!
Creativity on the fly is truly uplifting, rejuvenating, refreshing, and just the perfect course for trusting our intuitions and being intentional about what we see and how we absorb it all around us! Her encouraging words, videos, personal note shares, and mindful reminders work as helpers to turn some breakdown moments into “aha” breakthrough moments, and act as little nudges on the shoulders to look for creativity within and around! So much about how our little conscious intuitions can turn into intentions that can drive us and be present in the moment! This course is worth so much more and would want to soak in each and every aspect of all that is covers!

    1. Manisha, it was truly such a pleasure to play a tiny role in your creative journey the first time we met and I am so grateful you’ve come back to take further steps on that path. I am so grateful for such a heartfelt review. Thank you

  3. I discovered Kirsty’s work around 6-7 years ago. I was lucky enough to connect with her and met her once when she was in Mumbai, India. Decided to sign up for this course and I am so glad I did. I am just half way through it and absolutely loving this course. There were so many things which I was doing but not sure if I was on track. Was struggling with some guilt and self doubt. There were so many things which touched my heart during this course. My perspective towards creativity has evolved while doing this course. This course is so beautiful to understand and apply in reality. Can’t wait complete this course. Kirsty you an amazing artist and an amazing teacher too.

    1. Manasi it’s been so wonderful to have you join – thank you. I’m so happy to hear that it’s prompted you because I know you’re already such a wonderful multi disciplinary artist. I hope we meet again before long x

  4. So many thanks Kirsty!

Highly recommended “Creativity on the fly”! Why?
You get so much materials, videos, input, bts, workbooks to go on with your work and creativity and to put it on a new level.
All these guided by Kirsty with her wonderful thoughts and ideas. It has open my mind much more to see in other ways. I’ve got new ideas. For example: See the light and do double exposures. Try, try, try …
And think about new ways to push my own creativity. So much materials I still have to check out for the future. And I’m so inspired.

So once more: thank you Kirsty!

  5. Thank you Kirsty for this great-great class! I enjoyed every minute of it, and I wish it would be longer!! It feel very inspired now and motivated to applicate your method in my everyday photography and to use my creativity in a free yet conscious way.

  6. I’m halfway through the course and already I feel like I have started to gain so much from Kirsty’s course, not just in photography, but in my everyday life too. I love that there is a pdf version with all the videos so I can quickly go through the concepts and get inspiration, and when I have more time I can watch the videos. Overall, so glad that I went ahead and bought this, and at $25 it’s a steal!!

    1. Scherry, I’m so delighted to have you be part of this – and love that you will take the materials at a different pace dependent on your needs at different times. Thank you for joining!

  7. HUGE admirer of Kristy’s work and her travel experiences so I knew I had to participate in this self paced course. I love this format because it works with a busy life schedule. I especially look forward to the Q&A because here is where you can really learn a lot – all my questions are answered plus the inquires of others bring questions I never considered. Kristy is a true artist and for that I am eager to learn her creative process.

  8. After taking Kirsty’s Photography on the Fly course and enjoying it tremendously, I was so excited for Creativity on the Fly! Kirsty is a wonderful artist and shares so openly in such a down-to-earth way. Her words have really resonated with me and the videos are so helpful and inspiring. Thank you Kirsty for another amazing course!

  9. What I enjoy most about this class is that I feel Kirsty is speaking directly to my own heart. It’s like she’s my long lost friend (even though we’ve never met) and she knows all my struggles and exactly how to overcome them as well as how I think creatively or even what words I need to hear to overcome a creative slump. It’s all here! I can’t think of a better class, other than Kirsty’s first class Photography on the Fly.

I treasure the material in this class!

    1. I adore that it feels as if a long lost friend is gently speaking to you through this course Tina – being a supporter to friends is a role I love and I wanted the guide to feel like that so I am thrilled it’s come through and you’re digging into it. Thank you!!!

  10. I’ve always loved and been fascinated by how Kirsty creates such magical images ont the road but with such simplicity. I took her other breakout a few years ago (Photography on the Fly) and knew I had to join this one as well.
It was just what my soul needed right now! To take a pause and carve out this time to do some introspect work and get my creative wheels in motion.
I love the exercise book that she includes so that you can slow down, observe and take the time to take notes on what you see and get you thinking of creativity as a way of living, so that it becomes second nature.
It is also great that she includes a project creativity guide so that we can see what different types of personal projects other creatives have started. A great inspiration guide!
Kirsty really pours her heart into this course and I know this will be a guide I will refer to again when I need some comfort and nurturing in my photography journey.
Thank you so much Kirsty. This course is a wonderful gift.

    1. Thank you Nella! I’m so grateful that you’re taking some time to work on your creativity and how it infuses into your whole life and not just photography. I hope that you feel the slow nudges into it as you look back on it :)

  11. Kirsty was one of my first inspiration as a family photographer when I started my photography journey 11 years ago. I was in awe by her way of using natural light and her compositions. I had no hesitation to get her POTF years ago which I thoroughly enjoyed. And could not wait to get her second breakout.

In this Creativity on the fly course, Kirsty guides us to find the right tools and how to use them to tell our own stories through unique ways.

In a smooth and interesting manner, she goes deeply into what creativity is, explaining the different learning stages and how we can unveil our own creative expression.

She shares personal photos of her travels and everyday life and how she incorporates different elements and techniques such as double exposure, panning, layering and how the mood of an image can be affected or influenced if taken from a different angle, adding movement or changing the light.

I personally enjoyed Kirsty’s questions that automatically take you to an introspection on who, how and where we are as creatives, encouraging us to be more intentional, mindful and anticipate the moment. Also, I loved how much she stresses the importance of being more present in our own images.

The creative exercise book is a beautiful and perfect addition to this course, it has prompts, lovely phrases and activities to do where you can add your own personal reflections and ideas.

Finally, Kirsty shares a creative project inspiration guide with links to different projects and other creatives and amazing photographers.

In all, this course is full of useful information that has to be taken with no rush, but mostly, because it has “hidden” messages that will not only get into your creative mind but will be food for your soul, as it was for mine.

    1. Isabel, thank you so much for this beautifully thought out review – I am so grateful to you for taking the time to go through the materials slowly and really provide feedback for others that will help them to decide if this is a course for them too. I love that you find hidden messages in it – THANK YOU!! xx

  12. As I write this, I am still making my way through the materials – Kirsty has put together such a wonderful course that deserves to be savoured, considered, pondered and most definitely not rushed. This is not just about photography, this is about self care, intention, living life in a way that feeds the soul, and then infusing that into your images. Kirsty’s personal notes peppered throughout the course make you feel that she is right there with you, gently guiding you through, sharing her soul in the hope that you too will share yours. Her images peppered throughout the pdf are inspiring and thought provoking, and the Creative Exercise book is a beautiful tool which deserves to be printed and bound, written in and doodled upon. Thank you, Kirsty, for such an amazing course!

    1. Jennie, I am so glad that the slow infusion of the guide is felt as you go through it. And I love that you have printed the exercise book – it looks so beautiful and I hope it’ll be a space for you to record thoughts for time to come – Thank you!!

  13. As I both read and watch all the material Kirsty has put together, and presented sooooo beautifully, I already know I will come back to this course again and again in months and years to come. The material is so detailed and Kirsty shares so much of herself, you feel like a friend is giving you gentle guidance and encouragement. This course came out at the perfect time for me, as we are transitioning from our busy summer back into our school year routines, I will be able to utilize the course content in my day to day life, infusing creativity into life with 5 young kids, without feeling like I need to somehow find more time. Highly recommend !!!

    1. I’m so happy to read how this is helping you through a busy time and yet nudging you to find creativity in your days. And Im so very glad that it feels like something you’ll refer to time and again too – I hope each time it gives another little nudge

  17. Kirsty’s course is just starting and already I am so inspired! Adding creativity to evryday life is not only a photography goal but a life goal! And the way she talks about photography and suggest that we use it There is so much in her course that I share and feel like it’s so true. It’s liberating to look at and will get you out of a rut for sure!
And of course Kirsty is, as always so supportive of the photography community! It’s amazing!

  18. If you are looking for a gentle nudge to help kickstart your creativity, look no further! As someone who loves to dive deeply into topics, I appreciate Kirsty’s thorough approach to the topic of creativity. This is a course meant to be savored–to go through slowly and revisit again and again at different points in our creative journeys in order to glean new insights. I initially read through the course materials quickly to get some general ideas, but I now can’t wait to go through it all again at a slow pace to really reflect and allow it to soak in and take root. As a side note, Kirsty’s Creative Exercise Book is worth so much more than the price tag of the course alone. Do yourself a favor and invest in this course!!

    1. Thank you for such thoughtful comments – I’m so glad you feel it’s something you’ll revisit and savour slowly as I truly feel these are processes we truly must re-examing often to keep ourselves evolving as artists. I hope that each time you go through it it nudges you again. And thank you for loving the Creative Exercise Book – I am delighted that you enjoyed it!!

  19. Kirsty Lamour’s, Creativity on the Fly, is a beautiful meditation on creativity and a must have course for all artists and especially photographers. I was immediately drawn into Kirsty’s writing and images, and could not stop reading her lovely and thought-provoking words, and watching her videos which are full of beauty and inspiration . But truly this is a course meant to be savored. I plan to now go through the class slowly to soak in all of Kirsty’s inspiring writing, images and lessons, which I know I will be coming back to again and again on my journey as an artist. Regardless of where you are on your journey as a photographer this course is for you! Kirsty is a generous and kind teacher who encourages her students to explore creativity in all aspects of their lives and then bring all of their discoveries back into their work. Kirsty, thank you for putting your time and energy into this beautiful, fun, engaging, inspiring, and thoughtful class!

    1. I just read through your comment after I posted mine and realized we are on the same wavelength! I think that it speaks to the quality of the course that it makes us both want to revisit it over and over again :)

    2. Melissa, “a beautiful meditation on creativity” is just the most lovely thing to hear about this guide. It describes just what I wanted – not a boom, hit you in the face kind of class, but something that will encourage deeper reflection. THANK YOU for such lovely words and for being part of it

  20. I have followed Kirsty for years and took Kirsty’s POTF course which I absolutely loved. So when I saw that she had another course coming out I pre-registered without hesitation. I always learn so much from Kirsty and of course her course isn’t just full of useful information but also so much eye candy. It feels like I am travelling while following along. This course has been really insightful and parts of it felt therapeutic. I can tell that I will be watching the videos more than once. There is a lot more to this course than I had expected and have enjoyed playing with her creative journal/workbook. Creativity is in every part of our lives and I love to learn more about how to become more creative and how to appreciate all the creative possibilities. Thank you Kirsty for this course I am truly grateful!

    1. Cassandra, I’m so glad to hear that it’s been insightful and full of possibilities. And even therapeutic – which honestly, was part of my process when writing it so I’m really pleased some of that filters though to you. Thank you for being part of it

  21. I am only partially into the material, but I keep finding myself thinking how important/relevant/wonderful this content is for our work as photographers. Kirsty’s video on her image thought processes alone makes the course worthwhile – it is so good, I am already planning to rewatch it in the near future! Kirsty includes a plethora of visually stunning images and her comments are not only eloquent, but thought-provoking. She shares a wealth of knowledge and experience here; her passion for teaching, creativity, and photography all shine through. Thank you for putting this course together Kirsty, it is already a favorite!!!

  22. I just started Creativity on the Fly and it already resonates so much with me. I am on my third 365 and I always find it a struggle the last few months to be inspired. My most favorite images are definitely the ones where I push my creativity and skills and try something new. I love preconceiving an image and using my tools to make it come to be. This course is just perfect for me at this time. Kirsty’s work is phenomenal and her words and videos are thoughtful, encouraging and positive. I definitely recommend this course for anyone in a rut or anyone who just wants to spark some creative juices.

  23. Wow! This course. Just, wow. It’s amazing to see Kirsty’s creative process and ways of infusing creativity into her life and work. She talks about the the curious, creative mindset, and also about lots of tools to use to be creative, and when/why to use them. So many examples! Great videos! This course is fuel for your creative fire!

  24. Kirsty is one of the most amazing photographers around and to add to that she is giving, kind, inspirational and open with her creative process is just icing on the cake. This class was just the push I needed to keep creating and find ways to be creative looking at the beauty all around us. As artists there are ebbs and flows for creativity and reaching a lull in my own inspiration really felt like this course was perfect timing!

I love that there is visual inspiration to peruse as well as a written workbook and videos, so she can cover all learning styles. It’s so wonderful to be a part of a class that helps each artist find their own way to be creative with open arms!

    1. I’m so glad that you found things that will give you that gentle creative nudge you need Brooke – and I hugely appreciate the feedback on the different mediums of delivery – I know some love a PDF while others really want videos <3

  25. This course is full of ideas about creativity.  You will be challenged to know yourself, see creatively daily, make time for creativity, and much more…all complete with exercises to help you do just that.  While I have not been able to get through all the videos yet, the PDF was full of ideas to give your creativity a kick start and keep it growing. Kirsty also included a list of other resources to keep that creativity flowing long after this course is over, although the takeaways from the this course should be enough to keep anyone going a long time.  (You may not agree with everything Kirsty has to offer here, and she makes it quite clear that it is okay to disagree.  This is just another step in finding yourself and what makes you tick as an artist. But I think everyone will find something that resonates with them and will help them to grow artistically in this course). Kirsty is super excited about creativity and it shows with her enthusiasm and willingness to help each person in the class.  I’m looking forward to working my way through the rest of the class materials and putting into practice what she is teaching.

  26. Kirsty is such an inspiring photographer and person. It is amazing to be able to learn more about her creative thought process. It is certainly helping me to think in new ways not just in my photography – but also in life. The course includes a fantastic creative notebook to help you get your ideas onto paper through a series of creative exercises. It is a fantastic addition to the already top-notch learning material. This course is just the inspiration that I need!

    1. Thank you for such heartfelt thoughts Jenn! I’m so glad the course is helping you think about creativity and how it embeds in you life – I love the concept that it flows from there to our work. And I’m completely delighted that you love the Creative Exercise Book!!!

  27. Kirsty is one of the wisest and most creative people I’ve ever known. I’ve been waiting for the course to release ever since I heard about it. I set aside all other work to do the course as soon as I could and I absolutely LOVE it. I am still going through the wealth of knowledge she has shared. The thoughts and ideas she shares are all so profound and layered that I find myself stopping and thinking every few minutes. I already have 100 different ideas floating through my mind and I have only done about 40% of the course. Kirsty is so passionate about art and artistry and this passion shines through in every aspect of the course. I greatly appreciate her generosity in sharing her thoughts and knowledge on something as personal as creativity. I believe it is easy to teach technicality, but it is 10 times harder to teach a soft skill like creativity. Not only has she shared what creativity means and how it works for her personally, she has also listed ways for us to dig deep, find and nurture our own creativity and convert it into great art. This course is what I needed to restart my somewhat stagnant creativity and I am so thankful to Kirsty to have helped me in this.

    1. Saranya, thank you! I am so glad that my passion for encouraging others shines through and that it’s really helping to nudge you to dig deep and push creative ideas to the surface. I can’t wait to see you follow some of them and share with us all. Creativity is such a huge subject and so hard to teach as you say, but I just want to cheerlead others on this path and help them find their own true voice. I’m truly happy if that’s working

  28. I have been a fan of Kirsty’s for years. I took her last course Photography on the Fly years ago and it inspired me more than she will probably ever know. When I heard she was releasing a follow up course I jumped on the chance to learn from her again. I haven’t finished all the materials yet and it is already such a steal at $25. Kirsty teaches not only about how to incorporate creativity into your photography but also into your life. This course reminds artists at any stage why we fell in love with photography in the first place and encourages us to practice our craft with joy and wonder. Creativity on the Fly is an enlightening, uplifting and inspiring class that I will be enjoying for a long time to come.

    1. Karlee the fact you’ve enjoyed both classes so much means the world to me. Thank you for joining and for these wonderful heartfelt words – I am delighted to be with you on this artistic journey

  29. Wow – what can I say? Kirsty has once again bared her heart and soul and given direction for those who want to take a more creative approach to their photography. She has been honest about her own journey and explains why she has found her tips to be important to her and why you should take them into consideration with your own work as well. She isn’t pushy and encourages you to be your own artist – while inspiring you to think beyond what you see through the lens. Kirsty has supplied gorgeous visual candy and explained different composition and photography techniques that will help make your images stronger. I appreciate that she has also put together an inspiration board of sorts, so finding new and different artists to be inspired by can be a bit more pointed vs just scrolling. Thank you Kirsty for your time and yourself, it was like sitting down and having a cup of tea with a friend.

    1. Melinda, thank you! The sitting and having a cup of tea with a friend comment is so beautiful, because that’s exactly the kind of encouragement I want people to feel.
Thank you for letting me use your beautiful work to inspire others too. I’m so happy you enjoyed the course.

  30. I have been a fan of Kirsty’s work for a long time so it is always amazing for me to see her work. It has been such a treat to be able to see so many of Kirsty’s images in her course. It is extremely valuable for me to be able to see other artists’ thought process as that is what inspires me the most–the way they see the world and how they interpret it visually. Kirsty’s course is loaded with both written and visual information that help boost creativity. Kirsty is also an amazing teacher who is there to guide and support rather than to simply lecture. I absolutely love her approach to nurture creativity and how genuine she is as a person. I anxiously waited for the course to go live and totally binged all the materials immediately when I got access. I am so excited that Kirsty even included a journal/workbook in her course. The exercise book is so beautifully designed and perfectly geared towards creatives like me who has a million ideas but feel overwhelmed to work on them. This is exactly what I have been looking for yet to find one that I liked until now. I can keep going to say how much I loved Kirsty’s course! For everyone who wants to get a creativity boost, this course is a must!!

    1. Amy, thank you for such a wonderful review – I am so delighted that you enjoyed the course and the materials included and found them to nurture you towards your own inner creativity. And I am thrilled that the Creative Exercise Book is useful as I love it too and wanted to create something that I knew I would use personally!
