Wow! This course far exceeded my expectations! There were so many individual tips, tricks and organizational steps that each one would have been worth the price of the course by itself but together they were transformational. Oh, my gosh! This class is FULL of good information. I will be returning to these lessons again and again. Lisa taught us new ways of retouching, different ways of retouching and (often) faster and easier ways to retouch. She was super quick with answering questions and my jaw literally dropped when I implemented them. At first I wavered about buying this and wondered if I really needed another retouching/editing class and I’m so glad I bought it. No regrets.

Lisa introduces the topic of retouching in an easy to understand way.
In the advanced workshop she shows a wide range of possible applications at a higher level.
There is so much input you have to process it by practicing, practicing, practicing. Therefore Lisa has provided practice templates, brushes and actions.
Lisa’s most important statement comes at the end: “Less is more!” I think it’s easy to get lost in the range of possibilities she gives you and you could easily overshoot the mark of retouching. So I will keep her sentence in mind.

I’m so glad I signed up for this course! Lisa has so much knowledge and experience with retouching and has packed so much information into this course. Can’t believe how much I’m learning. She explains all the processes so well, things that used to sound overwhelming she has explained simply. I don’t do a lot of portrait photography, but what I do in the future will have so much time saved from the tips Lisa has given in this course, and I know my images will look so much better!
This is such a great two part course. Lisa is an excellent instructor and an expert in the field of retouching. She included SO much valuable information, including the handouts, practice images, actions, and easy to understand videos. I’m not new to editing yet still learned from the foundational part of the class. I took the course to learn photoshop techniques and workflows to utilize with my personal work and clients and have not been disappointed. If you enjoy editing in photoshop I bet you’ll enjoy learning from Lisa as well and find valuable tools to add to your workflow!

Lisa Carney’s “Secrets of a High-End Retoucher: Foundational Workflow” course blew me away! Incredibly detailed and covered all the advanced retouching techniques I was hoping to learn.
What really stood out to me was the Lisa’s expertise and attention to detail. She covered a wide range of retouching topics, including skin smoothing, color correction, and advanced manipulation technique, AI, and the many ways to achieve desired results.
One thing I really loved about this tutorial was the emphasis on non-destructive editing and file organization. Lisa stressed the importance of preserving the original image and using adjustment layers and masks to make changes.
A couple of other favorites for me in her course: Color Lookup and Blend-If sliders. LOVE! Overall, I highly recommend this high-end retouching tutorial to anyone who wants to take their retouching skills to the next level. The comprehensive content, expert instruction, and focus on non-destructive editing make it an invaluable resource for both beginners and experienced retouchers.

Oh my goodness. I was going back and forth about purchasing this course. I have a very small senior photo business that is exactly where I want it to be. I thought maybe I would get some tips to speed up my workflow and make my seniors look a little more polished. I ended up devouring everything in the course within 24 hours and am loving practicing the new techniques. This says a lot because editing is normally a thorn in my side. Lisa is beyond entertaining while explaining the process, very thorough in her explanations and adds so many small tips and tricks that I never knew thought about before. I found myself shaking my head frequently at things that I didn’t even know existed! As if that wasn’t enough, I loved how Lisa emphasized workflow and why things were done in a certain order. She didn’t do anything without explaining her reasoning behind it, which is usually to save time. The best part for me was how I can apply many of the things I learned not just in my portraits, but in all of my photos. I promise this course will teach you how to save yourself time. I can’t believe I was unsure about diving in. One of the most educational (and entertaining) courses that I have taken in a very long time.
