let's talk about
what makes it different
This course is different from most out there because it uses a completely different art form to approach photography. There are plenty of courses that use painting, sculpture, and drawing to draw artistic inspiration for photographers but very few that pull from a performance art background. This course will guide you through everything from directing subjects to lighting and composition.

Maria Gawne
Maria is one half of the married photography and videography team, The Gawnes. They cleverly go by their last names. Gawne is pronounced like “Gone With the Wind” or “Gone in Sixty Seconds”…you get the idea. They have been in business for over 14 years and have shot just over 500 weddings throughout Arizona, Colorado, California, Nashville, Florida, and the French Riviera. Maria’s work has been featured in The NY Times, Style Me Pretty, Wedding Sparrow, GW&M Magazine, Arizona’s Finest Weddings (three covers), The Food Network, and was seen on a billboard in Time Square. Maria is a hybrid film and digital photographer and is passionate about the art of print and design. She loves traveling and hanging out with her boys at home. She has a small social media management consulting business and mentors photographers and business owners. When she’s not holding a camera, a laptop, or a child she enjoys listening to audio books sped up, hot yoga, and a good glass of French rosé.
This class is great so far! I love thinking about an image as a theatrical set. It really changes how I see the story possibilities within a frame. If you want to strengthen your visual vocabulary and build a bank of ideas, this is the course for you!
Sounds Ike a great class! I please keep me on your list!
Phenomenal Course! Thank you, Maria!
