Hi everyone, I tried to take the course and pay but it closed. Can you get extended till tomorrow?
Hi Carolina!
The live portion is closed but it will be available in the Click & Co Store within two weeks to purchase.
I loved this breakout!! Mandalyn made me think differently about how to capture everyday life, different angles, different points of view and to turn around because you might have missed something beautiful when you walked by:) Thank you so much, I am so happy I won the giveaway for this course!
I am so happy you loved it, Karyssa! Thank you so much!!
I loved this breakout! Perfect for not only travel but documenting your everyday . Madelyn is awesome
And her p he is are breathtaking. Highly recommend this breakout!
Thank you, Carla! I’m so happy you loved it!
This course has been awesome! I’m very new to photography & just ordered my first camera. Mandalyn’s course is giving me some really great direction & understanding as I head out into the world. The timing is great, too, I will be going on a road trip soon & want to create some really beautiful memories through photos. This course has so much value packed in & Mandalyn really shares her knowledge freely. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much, Jessika! I am so excited to see what you do with your knew camera and photo knowledge! Thank you so much for your kind words.
I enjoy this breakout so far, although I have just gone half way through. Mandalyn reminded me the importance of the surrounding and importance of getting into the frame. Her editing videos give some interesting tips of how to edit to be consistent and make photos interesting. I especially enjoyed her shooting video of street photography and the self portrait one.
Thank you so much, Agnieszka! It’s been wonderful having you!
I wish I had this little course when I lived in France for two years. It has definitely opened my eyes to the beauty around me. I remember thinking lots of times, wow there’s so much to photograph here but how do I do it creatively and for impact. Hopefully I get the chance to return and practice my new skills. Until then I plan to find the beauty in my everyday surroundings (which is a little harder over here where I live in the US), lol but I just need to take a second look at those things that have become “normal” to me. Thanks so much for creating this! I can’t believe so much was included for the price! Amazing!!
So honored to have you, Nivea! Thank you so much for your kind words. :)
Shooting to Remember has been such a lovely course to take thus far. As with Mandalyn, I am also an American living in Europe. Taking this course has changed my perspective on how I interact with the world around me as I explore Germany and other parts of being in Europe for the first time ever. While I’ve used a mix of more recent and brand new work for this course, I’ve learned that I always lean towards storytelling in my travel imagery. It has been wonderful to see Mandalyn’s work and editing processes, as well as the works of my fellow photographers.
Thank you so much, Sara! So happy to hear you have taken so much away from this breakout. Thanks for joining!
I loved this break out!!! I hope to travel one day so to hear from someone who travels as much as Mandalyn is wonderful! But this class is more then that! She helps you remember to take pictures in your own backyard! I have truly loved it!
Thanks, Krista! So glad to hear you’ve enjoyed it!
This breakout has opened my eyes to the beauty all around me. Before this class, taking pictures was just a fun thing to do. During this breakout, my excitement level grew, every time I logged in. I’ll sure miss the discussion and answer sessions. I discovered new ways of capturing memories, learnt how to be intentional, and I know way more about cameras now than I ever thought possible. It is been an absolute delight to shoot to remember with Mandalyn and my classmates.
Thank you so much, Efe! It’s been a pleasure having you!
A feast for the senses! I’m not completely done with the breakout yet, but I feel like I just went on vacation – and so grateful as we still can’t travel anywhere! Shoot to Remember is in line with everything I love – a photo taken anywhere at any time can lead to a powerful emotion. Thank you for the reminder and the suggested photo lessons. I’ll be doing a few of the prompts soon! Loved the class and all of your amazing images. Thank you :)
Thank you so much, Evelina!
I’m halfway through this course and really enjoying the thoughtful teaching of Mandalyn! She has a great eye and watching her process is inspiring. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Autumn! So happy you’re enjoying!
Shooting to Remember is a wonderful breakout for the photographer who is looking to take the next step in their storytelling photography. Mandalyn offers helpful tips and tools to guide you on what to look for in a scene as well as how she processes her images. This breakout is full of beautiful eye candy and instruction.
Thank you so much, Jennifer!! I really appreciate your kind words and I’m so glad you enjoyed the breakout. :)
This was such a fun and informative workshop and it really made me want to go out and explore my surroundings. I also really appreciated the bonus about shooting a Day in the life as this is someting I have been wanting to do for a while. Also Mandalyns work is incredible and she is very generous about sharing the process. I definetely recommend this breakout!
Thank you so much, Jenny!! I am so glad you have enjoyed the breakout. :) Happy to have you!!
I’ve really enjoyed this Breakout, “Shooting to Remember.” It’s not just the vistas that capture the essence of a destination, it’s the people and other small details that complete the picture. Mandalyn’s thorough instructional materials (pdf and videos) provide excellent examples and I’m already seeing a difference in how I process my images. I live in a small town that has seen lot of its economy move to the “big city”, but there is still beauty and interest in the details. This is my first breakout and I’m finding that all I want to do is take pictures all the time!
I am so glad you are enjoying the breakout and finding it helpful, Madeleine! I have enjoyed seeing your images and having you. Thank you so much for your kind words!!
I registered for this breakout this morning and just finished the pdf. 100 jam packed pages of thoughtful, intuitive, and action based content! This is more like a full blown course in breakout form. I can’t believe I still have the shooting and editing videos to dive into. While I can’t wait to get back to traveling with my family, I also realized you don’t have to be on holiday to capture the world and details around you!! Thanks so much Mandalyn for the time and effort you put into this breakout!!
Whooo!! Thank you, Jessie! So happy you’re here!
Mandalyn provides tons of excellent resources to get you to start thinking about light and how to best capture your location. I plan on doing an exercise this weekend to capture my town at sunrise. I love the tips she provides with how to capture your surrounding. Very excited to put her tutorials to use.
Thank you, Chau! I can’t wait to see your images!
I absolutely love this breakout class. I have learned so much from Mandalyn. I mostly took on photography to capture memories of my family so I’m excited to use the skills I have learned when we start traveling again.
Thank you, Lindsey!!
Just delving in, but these materials are so thorough and extensive!! I’m really looking forward to learning more and getting lost in the wealth of information that Mandalyn has provided. The images that Mandalyn has provided are so breathtaking and beautiful they clearly tell the story and bring back every feeling that she wanted to convey. I can’t wait until I get to travel again so that I can document my journey in a whole new way.
Thank you so much, Amanda! I am so happy to have you!
Mandalyn work is amazing and I’m so excited to continue this break out. So inspiring and easy to follow!!
Thank you so much, Alexandra! Glad you are enjoying it!
Love this course! Easy to follow!!
Thank you, Alexandra!
I just finished reading this breakout and I’m so happy that I registered. I usually feel most inspired when I travel so this year definitely has been a challenge.
Mandalyn’s breakout ”Shooting to Remember” was the reminder and push I needed to look and appreciate what is around me, in my own home, my own city.
I can’t wait to start shooting again through new eyes and apply some of Mandalyn’s recommendations.
Her images of my native Sicily are breathtakingly beautiful and take me back there in an instant. More than that, however, they remind me the importance of capturing cultural details, wherever you are that represent your life NOW.
It is a great breakout, one that I will surely read through again when I forget the everchanging details of our lives, whoever we may be.
Thank you!
I’m so happy you loved it, Nella! Thank you so much!! :)
I am enjoying this breakout so much. Mandalyn has such a great eye for the detail and capturing the beauty around her. She covers everything from the gear she uses, editing and many different styles of photographing the world around you. It has helped me to look at my daily captures a different way as I shoot to remember the moment and the culture we are in.
Thank you so much, Laura!!
I want to congratulate Mandalyn for the wonderful class, Mandalyn you were spectacular in every detail, carefully explaining each topic, opened my eyes to see my surroundings in a different way, I can’t wait to be able to use your tips, tips that I will take with me forever, I loved all the material especially your diversity in making videos too! you are always super attentive and promptly answer our doubts! thank you very much for the opportunity to learn from you!
Thank you so much, Jessica! I really appreciate your kind words and am so glad to know you had a wonderful experience in the class. It’s been a pleasure!
Love this breakout so many amazing examples. I signed up to get help with travel photography but now I’m think of so much more. How to document where we are in life right now!
Thank you, Jemma!!
I’ve kept my eye out for a travel breakout for years and what timing! Here it is now that we’re on lockdown
But! It’s just the push I needed to look at my old tired locations with fresh eyes, and document (shoot to remember!) our days navigating this pandemic at home.
The prompts are just thing thing to inspire me to practice, shoot, get intentional… and when we can travel again (aka finally take that 40th birthday trip I was supposed to have in March) I’ll be bringing this with me.
Thank you so much, Drea! I’m so glad you found the breakout helpful and enjoyable!
This breakout was for me! :) I traveled a little through this breakout.
I like the way Mandalyn also applies these tips for everyday photography.
And thank you for the preset!
Thank you, Karine!!!
Wonderful Breakout! Can not say enough good things about both it and @mandalyn the instructor . Mandalyn is a good and thorough teacher. I have not only enjoyed learning more about how to capture images from trips, but this has really opened my eyes to the everyday people and places around me. It has reminded me to see the everyday and capture it in more striking ways for both myself and future generations to look back at. It has reminded me of how important that is – especially when we lose loved ones. We forget how special the memories we capture are sometimes. Okay, enough with the mushy stuff…this breakout has also taught me editing tips that I am excited to start using. It is probably one of the best breakouts I have purchased. Amazing value! Purchase it, you won’t regret it. Don’t think you need to travel to take away a tremendous amount from it either.
Thank you so very much, Jamie!! I am glad you enjoyed!!
I’ve been journaling these current times on my blog and this breakout has provided me with lots of great ideas to work with going forward re: capturing images in my own home, home area, and the culture where I live during one of the most unusual times in our history.
Love the way the main pdf is laid out in such a clear and easy to follow way. The imagery is stunning and so beautifully presented.
I haven’t watched all the videos yet, but am looking forward to working my way through them. So enjoying this breakout and recommend it to anyone who travels, blogs, or wants to start a family memory book (heirloom) to pass down to the next generation/s.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Wendy! I’m glad this breakout was helpful :)
I truly do not know where to start. This breakout has inspired me in a way that I did not expect. I bought this breakout as I love Mandalyn’s work and I thought it would be good to get some shooting ideas for my next trip away, however just the day after I started the course I grabbed my camera on my way to the little local market in the middle of a parking lot! Then I took it berry picking – you see it made me look at the “mundane” places I go in a different light, offering extra opportunities for photographs. So much material is covered in this breakout from where and how to position yourself to take the shot through to editing. Mandalyn’s minimalistic approach to the gear she carries is inspiring too and this is all discussed. Honestly this is a brilliant breakout and you will not regret purchasing this breakout as it really will help you to see potential photographic opportunities in your everyday, even if your everyday is currently feeling mundane!!! Well worth $25.
Thank you so much, Amy!! I am so glad you enjoyed the breakout and it helped you to see your everyday in a new way :)
I’ve been fan girling Mandalyn for so long and when this course was announced I KNEW it was going to be the bee’s knees. Not only does she cover important things to consider while out on location but heck if her images in this course don’t motivate you to get out and shoot then I don’t know. It’s set up in a simple and easy to follow over view, especially if you are like me and love bullet points to keep your mind on track. I already know what I need to work on when out on my next adventure.
Thank you so much, Tina!! I’m so happy to have you and incredibly pleased you liked the breakout!!
I love Mandalyn’s photos and I’m in the process of discovering her thought process and her approach to shooting locations as I work through her breakout. This guide teaches you how to use the tools available and understand the “why” of your shooting, to come away with stronger images that have meaning and tell your story better.
Warning though it will make you want to wander off to exotic places, but no fear as she inspires you to use her travel principles to make pictures In your own backyard that helps to really capture the now and here.
Hi, Shilpa! I was so excited to see you here and am ecstatic that you have enjoyed the breakout. Thank you so much for your review!
Okay, so this was not only informative, but awe-inspiring! Her travels are fabulous, but how she chooses to document the towns, people, and culture really opened my eyes to tons of possibilities. I’ve been able to do a fair bit of traveling in the past few years, and I wish I had taken this breakout way-back-when! Since we’re all still locked down/sheltering in place, I’m going to take up her challenge of the Day in the Life, and try to take a picture every hour for ONE DAY. Love this idea, love this breakout, love her photographic style, and LOVE that she’s a fellow Sony shooter!!
Thank you, Julia!! I am so happy to hear this breakout helped you to see things in a new way. I can’t wait to see your “day in the life” images! Thank you so much for joining!
I have been a big fan of Mandalyn’s work since I stumbled upon some of her travel photos on the Daily Project. My favorite images are ones that feel authentic and as though I can lose myself in them–usually the longer I look at them, the more I am able to find. Mandalyn does both of these things so well, and her use of color and toning make her work something I always look forward to seeing. I was so excited to see that she was coming out with this breakout, and even more importantly, that she was addressing so many of the things I had long admired in her work. As someone who does not get to travel as often as I would like, I appreciate that she breaks down her method to be relatable to any location or chapter in life you may find yourself in. So often, I find myself not taking a shot because the conditions are not picture perfect, but she teaches how to think deeper about a location to truly capture its essence and beauty. It’s always exciting to find a resource that helps push you to become a better photographer and better at seeing the world around you–this is definitely one of those guides I will be returning to again and again.
Thank you so much, Christina!! I am so honored to have you join the breakout and I am so happy you found the materials useful and applicable. Thank you again for your kind words and review!
Loved this breakout! Mandalyn’s idea of “capturing the essence” whether in landscape, street, or travel photography really helped me understand my own style of photography better – this is the common thread through many genres. Her shooting videos are so helpful to see her process as she explores an area. And her encouragement to think about how to capture culture even in your own local area immediately got me excited to get out in my city; something that usually feels very uninspiring and frustrating because it’s not pretty or exotic! Thanks for a great breakout, Mandalyn – I know I will come back to these materials again and again in the future for more inspiration!
Thank you, Nicole!!! I am so glad to hear that you were inspired by the breakout. It’s a pleasure having you!
This is such a wonderful class. I absolute love the topic. I’m so inspired by Mandalyn and her beautiful work.
Thank you so much, Rosa! So glad you are enjoying the breakout!
This is important work: to capture the beauty of the moments in the places we’ve been with the people we love. We want to remember these moments, capturing not only the places, people, and cultures, but also the essence and emotions of our travels. I can’t wait to get started on this breakout with Mandalyn Gilles. Her work is stunning and provokes a sense of wonder and connection to place. This is an amazing opportunity to learn from one of the best. Take this breakout.
Thank you so much, Cheryl. Your words resonate with me so deeply. I hope you love the course. So glad to have you!!
I’ve adored Mandalyn and her work for a while now. It hits even closer to home because we both live in Italy, so the details she captures makes me think, “D’oh! I totally see that too!!” and inspires me to capture our time here that much more. She’s the sweetest and I love the presentations so far! Bravissima, amica!!
You are seriously too kind!! Thank you so much, Jackie. I am super excited you joined and I’m so glad you’re loving it!
Mandalyn has provided a resource full of tips for shooting locations and getting the environment and culture into your images. And this includes those who shoot people and those who don’t. This breakout is jam packed with Mandalyn’s breathtaking images. I’m excited to put into practice both the shooting and editing tips she shares in this BO.
Thank you so much for sharing, Jennifer! I am so glad you’re enjoying the breakout and finding it to be helpful.
Mandalyn’s breakout is really a unique learning adventure! So much of what I have learned in the past has been portrait photography and I felt that the depth and perspective that I am getting from the breakout is enlightening and refreshing. Mandelyn’s easygoing style and the shooting videos really make you feel like you are right here with her, and it almost feels like an in person workshop. This is a breakout that I will refer back to for a long time!
I am so happy to hear you’re loving it! I really appreciate your feedback and I am so glad you are enjoying the breakout, Leyla! Thank you so much for your review :)
Mandalyn’s stunning imagery will incite a feeling of wanderlust and leave you ready to travel! In her breakout, she breaks down all of the elements she uses to capture the essence of the locations she captures in both her travels and everyday life. You will gain tools and be inspired to capture the beauty in your everyday environment as well as your future travels. From inspiring imagery to descriptive tools and exercises, this breakout will ignite your creativity and further your observation skills. I love Mandalyn’s perspective that there is beauty in every location if we just take the time to look for it. From the wide expanse, up close details, street captures and self portraits, you can find tips and inspiration for it all! Not only that in the main pdf, but she includes a bonus pdf with inspiration for shooting a ‘Day in the Life’ in addition to shooting and editing videos! Don’t miss this breakout!
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words, Kristen. I’m so honored and glad you enjoyed the breakout! Thank you again!
I feel that “shooting to remember” will be well used as I go forward in life. Love this concept of shooting to remember our everyday places and places where we will travel. Life is full of adventures both near and far. So inspired by Mandalyn’s work and looking forward to learning from such a talented lady.
Thank you so very much, Nicolette! Your words mean so much to me. I’m so glad to have you!
Mandalyn’s work has left me speechless wanting more every single time I look at her images. I could easily see her images published in a travel magazine! She does such an amazing job at capturing the colors, the light, the essence of the location and the people in her work. I was extremely excited for her breakout as I really wanted to learn better at how to bridge that gap I seem to have between connecting locations to people and culture and not make my images look like casual snapshots! I have loved travel forever. And I always thought travel was about only traveling somewhere far away! Her breakout came at the right time for me especially now in 2020 when she emphasizes on the aspect that you can photograph the locations where you are RIGHT now; which would become nostalgic years from now. I couldn’t agree more with this! Looking back I wish I knew how important my home city where I lived during my childhood would become for me! I still feel nostalgic holding the one photograph I have from that school I went to for my elementary education! Mandalyn breaks all the components of the location with respect to people, culture, light, composition and even embracing those silly touristy photos we all love! This is a complete guide you will need to learning how to capture the complete essence of the location, something which you will want to remember for years to come! And for $25, it is a STEAL! Don’t wait, get it now!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Jyo! I am so excited you loved the breakout and found it useful. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Pictures for me, depict poignant memories, hence my interest in this class; “shooting to remember”. I hope that at the end of this session, I would have acquired the skills required to capture memories that will elicit nostalgic emotions in others, such that they would be willing to pay for it.
Hi Efe! Thank you so much for joining the breakout. I’m so excited to have you and I hope you love the course!
